Bee's Five Word Challenge

Pulverize Shoals Cauldron Sovereign Forfeit

My heart is a black cauldron of jealousy, envy, and covetousness.
Fighting the only one who is able to be sovereign over anything,
I lift myself up to His stature,
to His Majesty,
and put myself
in His place.
When I do this I forfeit peace,
rest,
and serenity.
In it's place the shallow shoals of my heart are pulverized by my own self-righteousness.
Being the older brother comes naturally to one propelled forward by envy.
The younger son knew where he stood
after
he came to his senses.
Older brothers have a hard time seeing themselves in desperate need.
That's what I am-
in desperate need-
need of the one who humbled Himself,
took the form of a man,
for me.
To save me
from the cauldron of sin brewing deep within my heart.
