Random Thoughts on Politics/Culture and the way in which Americans do not understand how to Think

1.  State controlled media reporter Lara Logan on the CBS Evening News last night:

"Sunset in Cairo. The call to prayer rings out. Thousands fill the mosques for Friday prayers.  Muslims around the world are paying close attention to the overtures made by Barack Obama.
From his first moments as president -- America's new leader has raised the hopes of Muslims all over the world, who now expect so much of one man."
Anybody who does not believe the mainstream media is not controlled by the Obama White House is deaf, dumb and blind.  Ask yourself, what hope is he bringing to them?  Hope that they can indeed wipe out Israel once and for all?  Hope that they now have permission to bomb anywhere in the world and get away with it?  Hope that they will be safe and secure in their beds at night, so that the likes of totalitarian regimes such as Sadaam Hussein's was can now take over at will?  Do people hearing this on TV ever think about what is being said, or are they so trained not to think, question, or even at all find out what people mean when they make statements that they themselves never question anything that is said?

2.  William Donahue:
"William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, said Judge Sotomayor's record has more bright spots than conservative Catholics can reasonably expect to get from an appointee of President Obama."
We, who love freedom, think long and hard when someone, even a pro-life Catholic, makes the statement about Sotomayor's "possible"  pro-life rulings in the past.  Think..... just because she may be pro-life, she still, in her own words, believes that the Constitution is malleable, living , and a changing document and thus Judge's need to "make law" (her words), not interpret them.

3.  Unknown reporter for radio news said we should not take Sotomayor's statements as racist, because the Founding Father's believed that only "men" were created equal; not blacks or women.  That it was white, male Europeans that were the original suppressors here, and she just wants to level the playing field, and punish the white males.  I heard this as a commentary on the radio yesterday.  It gave me a great insight into just how the liberal mind thinks.

Adult content:
4.  A Playboy magazine online reporter wrote an article on the women he (I am cleaning up the words) would hate/love to "sexually abuse."  You can imagine the source of where this came from, but PBS's Bonnie Erbe said "it was wrong to publish a top ten list of conservative women  its writer Guy Cimbalo (adult content) but, c'mon, we all know Michelle Malkin had it coming." That's the gist of PBS "To the Contrary" host and U.S. News contributing editor Bonnie Erbe's June 3 blog post, "Playboy Mix of Sex, Hate, and Politics Demeans Conservative Women."
There are so many things wrong with this, it sickens my stomach, but PBS!  Sounds more like the way in which some in the Arab world treat their women.

5.  According to our President we are now a Muslim nation.  Do we really think the Muslims are buying this?

6.  "An ancient Christian religious ritual is apparently comparable to a controversial interrogation technique, according to Joy Behar of ABC’s “The View.” On June 3, the hosts of “The View” were discussing the new reality show, “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here,” where pampered “celebrities” are placed in a jungle in Costa Rica. “Hills” reality television star Spencer Pratt was baptized on the show and “The View” featured a clip from his baptism in a river."
"Behar, of course, had to add in her usual quip. “Isn’t it like water boarding- when they dump your head under there like that?” Fellow host Elisabeth Hasselbeck quickly replied with, “no.”  Quoted from News Busters.

7.  I have some great bumper sticker ideas concerning the up and coming putt-putt cars that the government is forcing us all to drive.  I have decided to keep my Excursion till the end of time, drive in it for maybe another 20 years and be the envy of all.  Here are some of the sticker idea to put on the back:
The Last Bastion of Freedom; my SUV.
The Last Bastion of Freedom; my gas guzzling land ship.
13 MPG, not too much to pay for freedom.
Unregulated; my Excusion.
Safe, Sound and Still going; my SUV, how's your "golf" cart doing?

Lynn's Commentary:
Scripture in  Isaiah 5:20 (New International Version) says:

20 Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.

This has become epidemic or should I say "pandemic" today.  The enemy of our souls has taken a culture that for so long was "good, clean, and reverent" and actually revealed it for what the majority of it was underneath.  We, the remnant" have never been in the majority of any culture.  When America "looked" good on the outside, all we did was bury our head in the sand, didn't look at our own hearts, and rested on our own righteousness.  The truth will come out eventually, and it has.  Repentance or the lack of repentance has gotten us here, and true repentance is the only thing that will get us out.  Being good, clean and reverent is so comfortable isn't it?  But... don't expect us ever to be in the majority, we never have been and never will be.

Repenting all day long and until He comes..............................Lynn
